Pray Like This

In case you've never seen this...

"Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us today the food we need,
and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
And don’t let us yield to temptation,
but rescue us from the evil one."

I love how beautifully simple Jesus makes this prayer, the blueprint for how we should pray.

Lately I've found myself praying the daily "need" part more than others...Father, please keep my husband safe, my baby healthy, help us rent our house, and on and on... Sometimes when those things weigh on your mind, it's easy to forget the other stuff. I've been enjoying our elementary "P is for Prayer" series because it's such a straightforward reminder, even for the adults in the room, of the hows, whys, whens, and whats of prayer. I hope that my prayers share the same comprehensive trust and gusto as that of little Zoei!

• We’re continuing Project Band-Aid this weekend! (Learn more about Project Band-Aid here.) Please keep wearing Band-Aids (on your cheeks, on your wrist, arm,etc…) to encourage our kids to join us in helping the Crisis Nursery. To remind us of our Ephesians 6:18 memory verse, we’ll be putting 6:18 on our Band-Aids too! Just in case you don’t have Band-Aids at home, we will have Band-Aids available for you in our ministry areas.
• We are rescheduling our May 14 HD FIT. We'll keep you updated on the new date!
• Warm weather is here and Radiant is helping families stay safe this swim season! Join us Saturday, May 16 at 10:00am for Pool Safety Circle Time, an interactive program designed to teach parents and children, ages 3-6 years, life-saving water safety skills. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your family’s spot at the Ministries Counter this weekend.
• Summer is hot, but HD Kid Fest is going to be even hotter! Radiant is holding a week-long summer event for kids 1st-5th grade the week of June 22 - 26. There are no sign-ups needed! Each night we’ll be holding an incredible service for the kids from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. and then an outdoor family event from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. HD Kid Fest will conclude on the 26th with a high-energy service for the whole family!
